Lee's Noodle House Santa Rosa
customers after a daughter's 7-second video of her dad [15]
A six-month, $500-a-month plan to get Gen Z through the door of a family restaurant that has fed its neighborhood for 30+ years.
Delivery brings food. Bella's saves you a seat.
NextWave Media · Phoenix Challenge 2026

Through the glass: 3D point-cloud scans, made with the Gather tool, of a stock diner booth, a family dinner from around 1920 and a plate of spaghetti. None of it is Bella's.
The video didn't load. Try a refresh.
Chains outspend Bella's on ads, and delivery apps win on speed. To fill Bella's empty seats, this plan puts the family on camera in every post.
Bella's regulars still love the food, but most young diners nearby have never heard of the restaurant.
We know the guest counts from two years ago and from today. The line between them is an estimate, drawn straight.
−35% guests in two years
<500 followers on social media
$500 a month for marketing
What gets young diners to try a place [1]
Share of surveyed Gen Z and millennial diners.
The plan must also be good for the family, regulars, staff and neighbors. It asks the family for 4 hours a week at most. If sales keep falling, the owners may have to cut hours or close.
We're aiming at Gen Z diners (16–29) within five miles, who find food on their phones and trust friends over ads.
We make every video for TikTok, repost it on Instagram and YouTube, and keep our Google listing current.
TikTok 4 a week
It's Gen Z's #1 way to find restaurants (38%) [4]
58% of users have visited a place they saw there [5]
TikTok shows videos to people who don't follow us, so a small account can still reach locals.
TikToks are reposted as Reels (Instagram's short videos). 8 in 10 adults 18–29 use Instagram [6]
YouTube Shorts
The same videos go here, at no extra cost.
Google profile
Diners check this listing right before they visit, and complete profiles get 70% more visits [7]
We post four series, all starring the family and shot on a phone. Each month's 16 videos split like this:
6 · Family Recipedishes the family has made for decades
5 · Meet the Familyowners answer comments
3 · Regularsa regular meets a newcomer
2 · Dropsthe monthly Vault Drop dish
0–2 sa hook that stops the scroll
3–25 san owner explains the sauce
Last 3 sthe dessert offer, pinned in comments
Each video runs 15–45 seconds, with captions and a location tag.
Partners: two local creators a month (2K–10K followers) visit and post, since small creators get 9–12% engagement versus about 7% for big ones [9]. We also work with school clubs and teams.
Talking back: the family replies to comments once a day, followers vote in the comments on each Vault Drop, and we start live broadcasts on TikTok once the account passes 1,000 followers.
Each uses something only Bella's has, like its old recipes and 30 years of regulars. Two start in month 2 (Vault Drop and Wall of Family), two in month 3 (Sunday Supper and Study Hall).
Each month an old-menu dish returns for 14 days, dine-in only. Followers vote on the next one.
81% of Gen Z say limited-time items make them want to visit [10]
On their fifth visit, guests get their photo on the wall beside decades of regulars.
Earning it takes five visits, which builds a habit.
Stamp card: no visits yet.
Once a month, anyone can book a seat at a 10-person family-style dinner.
24% of under-30s feel lonely on a given day [11]; a shared table helps.
0 of 10 seats taken.
On Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm, students get Wi-Fi, refills and a $10 combo. Tables are cleared for dinner at 5.
It fills Bella's slowest hours with paying guests.
Every post leads people one step closer to a table, and we count how many make each step.
count: views
count: profile visits
count: desserts claimed
count: second visits
count: tags, which send friends back to Scroll
Scroll. Boosts (paid promotion) go only to posts already getting more views than usual.
Search. Google is the last place people check, so we keep Bella's photos, menu and review replies current.
Sit. The server taps which video the guest showed, so we know which posts bring people in.
Stay. A stamp every visit. At five, the guest's photo goes on the wall.
Share. Guests post their meal, we share it, and their friends see it and start at Scroll.
Every dollar buys something we can measure. Boosts (paid promotion of our best posts) are the one item we raise or cut monthly.
Bella's Family Kitchen
The $500, every month
Months 2 to 6
Month 1 buys the setup
# = $5
Show a Bella's video when you order: free first-visit dessert
Outside the $500: the free first-visit desserts, and the 15% of members' checks that goes back to a club on its club night, are paid out of what those guests spend.
We skip TikTok Ads Manager (TikTok's ad-buying tool) because its minimum spend alone exceeds our budget [13].

new guests a month
$500 ÷ $9 ≈ 56
One chalk mark per new guest
Month six's target of 300 new guests would bring about $2,700 after food and dessert, 5× the spend.
The plan runs on a steady weekly routine, and any viral hit is extra.
Set up the social accounts, Google profile, photo wall and stamp cards. Film 12 videos before the first post.
Post 4 times a week, bring in 2 creators, run the first boosts and the first Vault Drop, and recruit a campus ambassador (a student who spreads the word).
Keep the best series and cut the weakest. Sunday Supper and Study Hall start.
Club and team nights begin, the first live broadcast goes out, and we add more creators if boosts work.
The family runs the accounts at 3 posts a week. NextWave Media stops coaching.
We check these eight numbers every Monday.
| Goal | What we count | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Reach | Views a month | ~0 |
| Engagement | Compared with the typical food account [14] | – |
| Followers | All accounts | <500 |
| Visits | Compared with month 1 | – |
| New guests | Free desserts claimed | 0 |
| Repeat | Guests back within 60 days | – |
| Promotions | Vault Drop dishes sold per run | – |
| Return | Money back on the $500 | – |
A dash means not counted yet. These targets assume about 40 guests a day, a $15 check and 30% food cost, all checked in month 1. So +25% means about 300 more visits a month, which wins back half the loss. The food medians are engagement rates: TikTok 2.04%, Instagram 0.40%.
